Vestibular Physiotherapy

What is Vestibular Physiotherapy?

Vestibular physiotherapy is an exercise-based program to improve balance and reduce dizziness-related problems. Though dizziness and vertigo are signs most commonly associated with vestibular dysfunction, there are also several less commonly identified issues. These can include but are not limited to: visual disturbance, nausea, vomiting, reduced concentration, anxiety, and fatigue. Vestibular dysfunction can be extremely limiting for day-to-day function, and can be improved with proper diagnosis and treatment.

Vestibular physiotherapy at the Sport Manitoba Clinic includes a comprehensive assessment of the neck and specific testing of the vestibular system.

Common causes may include head injury, viral infection of the inner ear, certain prescription medications, and aging.

Vestibular physiotherapy is also available virtually.
